estimated '50s - '70s

I can't quite place a smaller estimated timeline for when this Japanese happi jacket was sewn. It appears to have been sewn for an individal rather than for a company. There are no brand markings or tags on happi. I am basing the estimated time frame from the fabcric used and how it has colored and worn over time.

Design notes:

- Singular hook closure at collar

- Two front pockets

- Fully lined

Recommended for sizes xs - m depending desired fit. JP is 5'3" and an xs.

Length 28"

Sleeve length 14"

Pit to pit 19"

If unsure of how garment will lay on you, please reach out via contact page or insta dm. Include your size on a scale of xs - xxl, and your desired fit whether that's between oversized to relaxed to tailored, etc. I will let you know what fit to expect.

  • For garment longevity only launder when dirty, spot clean in between washes, and wash on delicate cool setting with like colors. Avoid washing with denim or bulkier items. Hang dry.

  • Pieces collected may show minor blemishes. Being primitive, antique, or vintage, this should be viewed as added character to its heritage. Major imperfections or defects will be noted. Purchases are final.
